Hitting that sweet spot.
With her signature otherworldly poise and captivating gaze, actress and Dior ambassador Anya Taylor-Joy steps into the spotlight as the face of the newly expanded Dior Addict collection. This iconic collection has been reimagined by Peter Philips, creative and image director of Dior, and perfume creation director Francis Kurkdjian—this time with two new finishes, sixteen shades and three irresistible scents.
In our conversation, the actress candidly discusses the candied fragrances that intertwine with tender moments in her life—scents that don’t simply adorn her, but also anchor her to memory. She reveals her favourite shades that she reaches for when curating beauty rituals as she steps into a new year with intention. For Taylor-Joy, Dior Beauty contributes to an image that empowers her to move through the world feeling wholly and unmistakably herself.

1. What has been your most memorable moment wearing Dior Beauty?
ATJ [Anya Taylor-Joy]: It’s always fun when the products show up without me having to insist on them. Because that just, I think, shows how good they are; so it’s always fun when I see something that I’ve shot a campaign for that potentially isn’t even out yet, and then it’s being used on me. I’m like, “ah this is fun”.
And then, just in terms of the beauty looks, when it comes to the red carpet, I find that I hit my sweet spot when I’m creating an image that both makes me feel confident, that also hopefully sparks joy in other people. I think, when you’re doing something that is so forward-facing as a red carpet, and you know it’s going to be consumed, why wouldn’t you take that opportunity to hopefully spark some delight? So coming up with the looks and kind of tying it all together brings me a lot of joy.
2. Which fragrance from the Dior Addict collection is your personal favourite, and what kinds of scents do you gravitate more towards?
ATJ: Because I pick perfumes for characters, I do find that I’m quite good at being able to enjoy different aspects, and so I find it easy to jump between, like a very woodsy smell, to something that’s more gourmand. I think because my mother had a lot of Jasmine around the house growing up in Argentina, I’d probably go for peachy glow, because it’s, you know, personal to me in that way, and it just transports me back to a very special time in my life.
3. From the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil Collection, which one would you choose for the daytime and which one for nighttime? Which shades would they be?
ATJ: The peachy one is really nice for daytime because it accentuates your natural lips. It’s a very subtle colour, but it gives you that little bit of shine, and then for nighttime, it would be one of the berry shades.

4. Judging by the number of upcoming projects in 2026, you’re going to be booked and busy! How are you preparing for the action-packed year ahead?
ATJ: Oh, I’m actually just booking my flight home to vegetate, and I’m very excited about that. I think I’ve been fortunate enough to be working on things that really inspire me, and I find that when I have inspiration, I can kind of go on forever. But something that I’ve discovered this year that’s been really helpful and I’m excited to bring into the coming year is that I’ve always worked quite relentlessly.
I thought that any time off that I had, I had to bedrot, and I realised that that’s just not how I recharge. For some people, that works great. For me, I’m a doer. I like to be active. I’d like to be outside. And so this year, I discovered my deep love of road trips. If I have a couple of days off in any country that I’m in, I’m getting in a car with my best friend, and we’re going to see something incredible. And so I’m excited to bring more of that into the upcoming year.

5. What are the best beauty tips that you’ve learned from Peter Phillips?
ATJ: I think, honestly, probably spraying the essence. It’s kind of amazing, especially I haven’t had that much time to practise doing my own makeup. I’m usually in kind of, like, high stakes situations where it’s better left to the professionals, and then once I have time off, I’m outside doing, like, outdoorsy things. So I think having the option where, if something’s not sitting quite right, being able to give it that little boost of hydration and seeing how it immediately goes back into your skin. That’s been pretty game-changing for me.
