When Giorgio Armani created his line of foundations for his namesake beauty brand, he wanted each of his foundations to feel like a certain fabric, and evoke the qualities of those fabrics onto the skin.
The most iconic one — the Power Fabric Foundation — quickly became a cult favourite for its high coverage and velvety matte finish that doesn't feel heavy or drying on the skin. Like a power suit for the skin, this foundation helps you achieve the appearance of a flawless complexion by evening out the skin tone and concealing imperfections.
The secret is in its formula—ultra-fine pigments form the basis of its high coverage. With 16 percent pigments in its formula, an optimum amount for perfect coverage, the Power Fabric Foundation is able to cover imperfections without the heavy feeling often associated with high-coverage makeup. The pigments are suspended in a cocktail of three types of oils that deliver long-lasting results without compromising on wear. The varying evaporative rates of the oils help the foundation glide on during application but settle quickly to ensure that coverage is lasting—up to 16 hours of flawless finish, even with a mask on. That's not all. The Power Fabric Foundation also offers UVA and UVB protection with its SPF25/PA++ filter.
As a makeup artist, the idea of combining a long-lasting foundation with an invisible finish seemed like an oxymoron.
