I cannot deny that my skin condition is mainly genetics, as my entire family has pretty awesome skin without trying (except my mother lol) but I have to admit that my beauty routine has helped maintain it and actually added some glow as well!
My skincare routine is mostly at night as I only wash my face once a day with Purity Made Simple Face Wash by Philosophy. I feel like this kind of builds immunity in my skin so it won’t become too reliant on skincare. I start off my day with SPF, some lip balm and a bit of moisturiser if needed. I love Biore’s UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence as it is super lightweight and oil free! I end off my day with my holy grail (which was also forced onto me by my mother) rosehip oil after washing my face. That’s it. Less is more!! In colder weathers though, I use Lush Celestial Moisturiser before the oil, it is amazing during the dry and cold winter as it has cocoa butter, vanilla water, almond oil and all the other good stuff. And I end off with Lush Sleepy Body Lotion, which makes my skin feel super moisturised, helps me relax and it smells really good.
I don’t usually wear much makeup unless I am going for castings or going out with my friends, and I have two different routines. For castings, after sunscreen, I layer on some foundation as my concealer! My go to would be Estee Lauder Futurist Aqua Brilliance as it is brightens and oxidises super well with my skin chemistry, so my base actually gets better throughout the day! After setting with Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder, I layer 2 different shades of blush. Firstly, I blend in Canmake Cream Cheek Blush in shade 01, a blood red cream blush, on the high points of my cheeks and then bronze the hollows with the warm brown shade from Compact Powder Blush Palette by e.l.f. This gives a super natural finish which is perfect for castings. Highlighter is very important to me and my favourite is Chanel’s Limited Edition Camelia De Plumes which launched 3 years ago so technically this product is 3 years old but I don’t care. I swish it on the high points of my cheeks and on the tip of my nose. I then fill in my eyebrows a little bit with Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel, and then pop on the gel that comes along with it. I got it after makeup artist Alex T (<3) used it on me several times and I love it. I pop on my favourite MAC Satin Lipstick in Mocha and finish off with Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray.
If I am going out with friends, I do pretty much the same for everything but I like to use Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette for dramatic eye makeup. I like to use different blushers but my favourites would be Charlotte Tilbury’s Cheek to Chic and Love Is The Drug Swish & Pop Blusher , it was gifted to me by an awesome makeup artist (Andrea Claire <3). Another go to would be this super pigmented Just For Fun blush by LA Girl which I left in Tokyo :”) I would use it as a blush and eyeshadow then pair it with Fenty Beauty Killawatt highlighter in Trophy Wife for the high points of my face! I have so many fragrances I love but my ultimate favourite would be A&F First Instinct EDP as it has the warm vanilla note of tonka beans.
At the end of the day, I remove my makeup with Pond’s Cold Cream along with some cheap makeup wipes. I don’t really go for facials, I just use sheet masks from Innisfree. I am afraid too much would ruin something so I would rather keep to my minimalist skin care routine. I love getting my hair washed at salons as I really enjoy head massages and I get my hair cut by Ken Hong at Evolve Salon.
