Have you ever noticed that the Duchess of Cambridge is never seen wearing nail polish out in public?

That's because coloured nail polish and fake nails are not part of royal etiquette, as OK! magazine revealed. For the Duchess, that meant throwing out her nail varnishes in favour of clean, natural nails.

But if she does ever get the nail polish urge, she can be sure that there is one colour the Queen will fully approve of: Essie's Ballet Slippers. A light, pinkish nude (of course) the Queen has been wearing since 1989. (Though Kate did wear a different shade to wed Prince William.)
