This marks the French luxury brand’s foray into cosmetics.

Few beauty launches have carried the weight of anticipation quite like this. La Beauté Louis Vuitton arrives not as another line on the shelves, but as the Maison’s most ambitious step into colour, artistry, and ritual guided by the hand of Dame Pat McGrath.

McGrath, who takes on the role of creative director for cosmetics, has long shaped the way we see beauty on the runway and in editorial, and her vision now extends into a permanent chapter for Louis Vuitton. She describes makeup as culture, as presence, as something deeply personal—an idea that feels stitched into every detail of the collection.

What Can You Expect in the Collection?

The line opens with lipsticks, balms and eyeshadows, each designed less as an objets d’art. Lipstick becomes the signature—55 shades, a nod to the Roman numerals for LV, spanning creamy satins and plush mattes. The shades are stories in themselves: Monogram Rouge, a burnished red that recalls the Maison’s iconic canvas; Rose Odyssée, a sienna rose that speaks to journeys and self-discovery; and Rouge Louis, a scarlet that carries both boldness and elegance.

For a softer touch, there are 10 balms that melt into the lips with a sheer glow. They nourish as much as they tint, offering everything from a delicate veil of rosewood in Rose Essentiel to the pearlescent shimmer of Tender Bliss. Perfect as daily companions, subtle but polished.

Eyes are given their own language through eight harmonies of eyeshadows, each quad blending three versatile shades with a single statement hue. From the patina-inspired golds and bronzes of Beige Memento to the ethereal pinks of Nude Mirage, the palettes move easily from day to drama. The formulas themselves are carefully considered—pigments in their purest form, light-reflecting technology, and skin-loving squalane—that make every application seamless.

There’s also an unexpected detail: fragrance woven into the pigments. Jacques Cavallier, Louis Vuitton’s master perfumer, has created scents that live inside the formulas. Lipsticks carry soft notes of mimosa, jasmine and rose, while the balms surprise with a hint of mint and raspberry. It turns the act of applying colour into something multi-sensory—not just about how you look, but how you feel.

Beauty Meets Heritage

What makes La Beauté Louis Vuitton especially compelling is how it ties back to the brand’s legacy of travel and design. The Maison has been crafting vanity cases and beauty trunks since the 1920s, and those archives whisper through the collection today.

Industrial designer Konstantin Grcic has reimagined the codes of Vuitton trunks into sleek aluminum-and-brass casings. Every detail has been considered: the sound of the closure, the weight in your hand, the engraved refills. All are designed to be kept, refilled and treasured over time.

Extending beyond makeup itself, Louis Vuitton has also created lipstick pouches, compact beauty cases and a modern Vanity Trunk—a nod to Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s 1920s designs. These pieces reaffirm beauty as part of the Maison’s story of movement and ritual. They’re not just accessories but companions, carrying with them the same spirit of elegance that once accompanied travellers across continents.

A New Ritual in Luxury

The Maison’s history of vanity cases, perfumes and objets de beauté has always hinted at this moment—when beauty would no longer be carried inside its trunks, but expressed as its own universe. La Beauté arrives as both memory and revelation, shaped by the hands of artists yet rooted in centuries of savoir-faire. It is beauty imagined as ritual, as keepsake, as journey—destined to travel as far, and last as long as the House itself.
