A veritable beauty lovers paradise, escentials broadens its extensive range of scented goods with up-and-coming Swedish brand Byredo. Housed exclusively under escentials, the label is bringing its wide range of perfumes, distinctively scented bath oils, candles and leather goods to our sunny shores.
“Asia has always been a fascinating playground for me and choosing to launch my label in Singapore was a natural choice because of the city’s dynamic mix of consumers," said Ben Gorham, founder of Byredo. "Singaporeans are a well-travelled group and have a discerning taste towards fragrances. For me, every fragrance is based upon a memory, a colour, shape or even an emotion, and I am hoping that consumers will be able to find a fragrance that speaks to them.”
With his diverse heritage (he's a native Swede born to an Indian mother and a Canadian father) and multicultural experiences collected from his extensive travels, Gorham's concoctions for Byredo are grounded in the personal memories he transforms into scent. For instance, the temple incense and ginger notes in his “Encens Chembur” are a nod to his half-Indian ethnic background, while the scents of white rose and blonde woods of “Blanche” embody his interpretation of the colour white. It's all but guaranteed: You'll definitely have a sumptuous experience with these scents.
