Along with chunky highlights, scrunchies, snap clips and flipped ends comes another '90s hair trend clawing its way back: those two tendrils purposefully left out of your hairstyle at the front of your face.
These face-framing tendrils can currently be seen sported by the set known for their love of '90s styling (think Bella Hadid - of course, Dua Lipa and Rihanna), but also on others who aren't doing it in an obviously throwback way.

Karlie Kloss, Ashley Graham, Lucy Boynton and Ana de Armas have all recently worn their hair styled with face-framing tendrils that look both soft and sophisticated.
So park the memories of those crispy, pin-straight strands that looked like southward pointing antennae, and welcome this altogether much more romantic take on the trend. Both may be created by a combination of heat and hairspray, but for the latter, go gentle on both fronts and create a soft bend in the strands using a curling tool.
Kloss demonstrates that chunky tendrils look beautiful tumbling from a high bun.
De Armas nails the ethereal up-do with soft strands suggesting an effortless vibe.
Graham's full ponytail makes her the coolest '90s poster girl, one that we aspired to look like (but never quite did).

Boynton's barely there tendrils lend her experimental look a laidback finish.
Kendall Jenner pioneered the trend revival back in 2018 at the Cannes Film Festival. Her take, by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, was haute '90s. Simplistic but oh-so chic.
