Another celebrity joined the quarantine hair transformation club. Emily Ratajkowski just took to Instagram to show off her new blonde hair color. Known for her signature chestnut brown waves, her new honey-blonde color was done in partnership with the luxury haircare brand Kérastase (she’s a spokesmodel).

“We planned it for so many months and now finally did it!” wrote Rosa Carrico, Global President of Kérastase, on Instagram about the hair transformation. Fans are torn in Emrata’s comments about the dramatic hair color change, though it’s clear the model is loving her fresh new look.
The model and actress is no stranger to playful new hairstyles, though they’re usually temporary and thanks to wigs and extensions. She’s worn a fake pixie cut, bangs, and a lob haircut, as well as blonde wigs from time to time. But this time, the blonde hair change is real and here to stay.

Hair that’s been lightened dramatically from brown to blonde typically suffers from damage, but Ratajkowski’s hair looks voluminous, soft, and glossy on Instagram. The brand is crediting the Blond Absolu line of products—infused with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants—for keeping her hair healthy during the blonde transformation. “She can get fiber healing and anti-brass actions with Bain Ultra-Violet. Then she treats her hair with Cicaflash to restore sensitized hair and prevent breakage. And last but not least, fortify and protect your hair fiber with Cicaplasme,” the brand shared on Instagram.
Ratajkowski began working with Kérastase in January 2018. “I am excited and proud to be chosen as a Kérastase ambassador. Hair is essential to how I express myself. I love that feeling of clean, textured, natural hair, that instantly makes me feel more confident,” she said at the time. “I consider my hair as the reflection of my inner strength. It’s not an ornament but a way to express myself. I think that’s true for all women. There’s such an empowering femininity to hair. It allows women to define who they want to be. That’s why they deserve the best care.”
