Emily Ratajkowski has one of the most desired bodies in show business. While the model and actress has admitted that she is lucky with her metabolism, she still works hard to get those abs of steel. Here, we break down her diet and exercise secrets, from what she has for breakfast to how she finds time to work out in her busy A-list life.

She has a pastry for breakfast every day

“Every day I go to Blacktop Coffee and get this pastry called kouign-amann with my black coffee,” Ratajkowski told Harper’s Bazaar US.

She has to hold back when it comes to a buffet

“Lunch is usually a salad or a sandwich,” she told Bazaar. “If I’m on set, I’ll have catering, but I’m well-behaved with that stuff. It’s easy to go crazy – they know how to feed you.”

But she does let herself indulge from time to time

“I wouldn’t say I am the type of girl who craves Doritos, but I definitely love a good cupcake sometimes,” Ratajkowski told Elle. “Or a croissant in the morning.”

She loves meat

“You know, I’m a carnivore,” the model revealed to Elle. “I really like to eat meat. I crave iron so I am definitely not the kind of person who you will often find eating a plain salad. I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy and also be healthy.”

She struggles to fit exercise into her daily life

Like all of us, Ratajkowski finds it hard to schedule work-outs, so she tends to save this for her down time: “Days off, I’ll get some time to exercise, maybe go on a hike or a yoga class,” she told Bazaar.

She eats out (a lot)

“I never eat at home,” she said. “Dinner is my time to be social and catch up with people. I love this Italian restaurant downtown called Bestia. It’s kind of fun, they have good cocktails and wine. If I’m trying to be a little healthier, there’s Café Gratitude downtown. There’s amazing sushi at this tiny place called Mako in Little Tokyo. And I also love uni. Anything with uni in it is great for me.”

Water and sleep are key to her routine

“[Before bed], I chug water and take off my make-up… I sleep the best in my own bed, which is too bad because I’m not sleeping in my bed enough,” she mentioned to Bazaar.

But most importantly, she isn’t too hard on herself

“I think it’s really important to give yourself a break,” she told Elle. “And also just really think about where things are coming from and what kind of ingredients are going into your body.”
