Gigi Hadid, girl of the moment, is launching a new fragrance and campaign with Tommy Hilfiger. The scent, named The Girl, is inspired by the young model herself, including youthful notes of green pear, jasmine and violet.
“I love the fragrance’s clean and fresh feel,” Gigi told BAZAAR.com. “I like a scent that doesn’t overwhelm and keeps everything light and airy. It’s a really fun and flirty fragrance to go out at night but also versatile enough to wear during the day.”
Though named “The Girl,” the scent is a humble tribute to the women Hadid grew up admiring, too.
“To me, women are beautiful when they are confident, warm and welcoming. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some of the women I admired growing up, and the ones that truly touch me and continue to inspire me are the ones that embrace these qualities,” she added.
As the label’s global ambassador, Hadid is also designing a capsule collection with Hilfiger, staying true to the brand’s “classic American cool” themes and nautical motifs—which means plenty of anchors, rope and red-white-and-blue.
The fragrance itself won’t be available until this fall, but you can get a sneak peek of it when the campaign starring Gigi launches this month.
