Jessica Alba Admits She Made Some Major Beauty Mistakes In Her Teens

Jessica Alba has the kind of perfect, glowing skin that makes us mere mortals green with envy today, but she says that wasn't always the case. Alba told Allure that her biggest beauty regrets are both skin-related.

In her teens and early 20s (ah, youth), Alba says she was in the bad habit of wearing way too much makeup—a full face, in fact.

"I actually wore too much makeup when I was a teenager. I wore a full face and I probably [should have] worn a lot less," she said. "I didn't know that there was the no-makeup makeup look until I was in my 20s. I used to use a foundation stick and just rub it all over my face and then I would break out. Then, I would wear more makeup to cover the break out. The most important foundation is great skin."

Alba also copped to an even worse skincare crime: tanning beds.

"I did [use tanning beds] a little bit as a teenager and a young adult," she said. "I remember, it was a trend and we all used to do it. You put the sticker on to see how dark you got. I would go to my cousins' dances, like the Sadie Hawkins dance, and we would get a fake tan before. I would never do a tanning bed ever [now]."

Ahh, the early 2000s, we knew not what we did.
