Combining Science And Beauty With Biologique Recherche Facials At Raffles Spa
We learned how science and luxury go hand in hand when it comes to facials.
BAZAAR hosted a private event with Raffles Spa in collaboration with French artisanal skincare brand Biologique Recherche to introduce their line of professional facials that targets various skin concerns, especially those that that are common among Asians.
For this special event, Mr Rupert Schmid, Chairman of the Board for Biologique Recherche shared more about the brand and its vision. He is also joined by Dr Philippe Allouche, the Research & Creative Director and son of the founder of Biologique Recherche who was there to demonstrate the various facial massage techniques which make their facials so relaxing and effective.
Senior Beauty Editor Arissa Ha welcomed participants to the event and introduced Mr Schmid and Dr Allouche who spoke more about Biologique Recherche and the philosophies behind the way they treat skin issues. Dr Allouche, spoke at length about how skin is constantly changing in response to factors like stress, hormones, and weather—which means skin shouldn't be categorised into skin types. Rather, Biologique Recherche's philosophy is to measure skin indicators like hydration, sebum levels, elasticity, pigmentation and skin barrier in order to determine what the skin needs and the appropriate products to use. Dr Allouche also explained his knowledge of facial muscles and how the proper massage techniques can help lift the visage.
He also demonstrated these massage techniques on a model using Biologique Recherche to simulate the experience of what it would be like when you go for a Biologique Recherche facial treatment at Raffles Spa. Guests were able to view first hand the results of the facial techniques and how the skin looks plump and lifted after.
Guests were invited to a complimentary skin analysis with Biologique Recherche's expert as well as refreshments at the event.
