One of Rossano Ferretti's clients is none other than Kate Middleton.

We are all more than familiar with the influence that Kate Middleton has when it comes to selling out dresses—remember all the times websites and e-stores had crashed because women rushed to purchase dresses the Duchess was photographed wearing? Well, if you've previously lost in the game of fastest fingers first, there is something else of Kate's you can now replicate aside from her wardrobe: her haircut.

The Duchess of Cambridge has always worn her dark brown locks in elegant, loose curls with long, cascading locks that perfectly framed her face. And the mane man responsible for it? Celebrity hairstylist Rossano Ferretti. While Singapore is no stranger to high-end salons, the $2,000 price tag on his haircut still, quite frankly left me shook. After all, he's the go-to man for A-listers like Jennifer Lawrence, Reese Witherspoon and Dakota Fanning. And besides, Ferretti also developed one of the most revolutionary haircut technique when he introduced "The Method" back in 1994. A world away from the sharp, blunt cuts of that time, Ferretti's "The Method" allowed the stylist to enhance the organic individual beauty of every client and tailor the haircut to suit details such as hair type, facial structure and personality while ensuring utmost care to hair fibres. No wonder Kate's tresses have that natural movement and healthy bounce.

Sadly, Ferretti himself rarely sees clients anymore unless it's for charity purposes, but you can get the same treatment with one of his two artistic directors, Christian Serafini and Diego Fiorucci, who are now resident hair maestros here at the new Rossano Ferretti Hairspa which just opened late last year at Fullerton Hotel. As long as you're willing to shell out about $375 to $510 for a Cleanse, Cut & Finish service, depending on hair length and thickness.

The spacious salon interior gets plenty of natural sunlight and is decorated to feel like a luxurious apartment.

As its name suggests, the Rossano Ferretti Hairspa is a full-serviced hair salon, offering a comprehensive menu ranging from blow-outs, colour services and hair spa treatments using his eponymous Rossano Ferreti Parma range of products. Needless to say, I got myself an appointment to experience the legendary "The Method" for myself. I was the first appointment of the day and from the moment I entered the well-appointed space, the service was top-notch. Everyone was well put-together (I'm talking not-one-eyebrow-out-of-place immaculate), extremely polite and always made me feel at ease. Once I got settled into my seat, I was promptly offered a drink (great espresso, if you must know). Christian and I got to chatting and he knew all the right questions to ask. I didn't feel like he was being intrusive at all and before I knew it, he seemed to have gathered enough insights about my personality and preferences. We spoke freely about the styles I liked and he gave his expertise on what would suit my face shape best.

The cozy space can accommodate four clients at the same time so you're guaranteed a private salon experience.

I was then ushered to get my hair shampooed. As my hair was pretty dry and damaged, the Intenso range of products was used. Formulated without sulphates, the extra-conditioning shampoo is rich with replenishing ingredients like vitamins A, E and avocado oil to hydrate and soften parched ends. A relaxing scalp massage was also performed, and as I laid in the ultra-comfortable reclining chair, I'll be honest that I struggled to stay awake.

Fitted with ergonomically designed chairs, your shampoo experience will never be the same again at Rossano Ferretti Hairspa.

He laid out his tools in front of him precisely before proceeding to work on my hair. He picked up his scissors and began to cut my hair. Just like I'd read on the salon's official press release describing "The Method", Christian cut my hair in swift, vertical motions. He alternates between light, sheering gestures and tousling my hair, all the while intently studying how each piece of hair falls and moves. He shuffled around me with agility and grace, almost as if doing a little rhythmic dance as he tended to my hair from varying angles. And within 30 minutes, I was all done. It was nothing like I've ever seen—with each move, it was as if he was playing the role of a conductor, orchestrating the perfect symphony that was my new 'do.

My shaggy crop became a thing of the past as it transformed into a tousled pixie with wispy ends that added much-needed volume and body to my fine, limp locks. It's been a breeze to style and maintain my hair everyday now, I pretty much rub one or two pumps of the Prodigio Regenerating Potion before blow-drying it and am good to go. On days when I have a bit more time to style it, all I have to do is either work some wax onto the ends for a perfectly texturised finish.
