We’ve spent years coveting the beauty looks on the Valentino haute couture and ready-to-wear runways. We’ve also spent years (impatiently) waiting for today’s big beauty news: Valentino’s first makeup collection is launching worldwide in August and will be available for pre-order in the US on June 1.

Valentino Beauty is launching as a complete line from the start, with a foundation available in 40 shades, 50 lipsticks, and “experimental” eye products. “Pierpaolo Piccioli, Creative Director of Maison Valentino, delivers his vision of beauty according to the time we are living in, by bringing his inclusive aesthetic where emotions, dreams, and individuality are essential,” notes the announcement. “Valentino Beauty is human beauty, a couture makeup open to all genders, ages, and cultures.”

There isn’t just one face of the makeup collection. Piccioli chose 16 “eclectic” talents to represent the many facets of the Valentino brand. “Beauty is a complexity resolved through love. Beauty is democratic. I look at the identity of each individual, the uniqueness that encloses diversity and inclusivity,” he notes in the release. “Beauty is about grace. Grace is something that you cannot describe, it is a perception. Beauty is something that gives me emotion. It is a connection.”

This collection marks the first color cosmetics launch from the storied fashion house, though it’s a major force in the fragrance space. The first Valentino fragrance dates back to 1978, while the latest launch, Voce Viva, just debuted in September of 2020. Lady Gaga serves as the face of the Voce Viva fragrance campaign.

All the Valentino Beauty makeup collection product details will be revealed on May 31, 2021, at Selfridges Department Store in London. Pre-order for the lipsticks, foundations, and eye products will begin on June 1 in the United States, and the worldwide launch will begin in August 2021.
