BAZAAR Senior Beauty Writer Goes For The Dark Lip Look For A Week
Trust us, it is not at all gothic.
MONDAY: Lip Color in Black Orchid, Tom Ford Beauty
A sultry Tom Ford classic, this deep red is grown-up, mysterious and a whole lot of sexy. It glides onto lips smoothly and leaves lips feeling soft and smooth for hours. Best worn with matching nails and sky-high heels.
TUESDAY: Liquid Lip Velvet in 49 Bright Plum, Burberry Beauty
Rich and super creamy, this liquid lip colour glides onto lips and feels nourishing and comfortable. I found the applicator slightly tricky to manage on my first try so I had to apply several coats to get the precision and coverage I wanted. Practice makes perfect though, and I soon got the hang of it after a few tries.

WEDNESDAY: L'Absolu Rouge Definition in 294, Lancome
The one I'm wearing in the video is an oldie but a goodie. For the closest replacement, try the L'Absolu Rouge in 191. It's a deep red that's super duper sultry, and the creamy texture is superb.
THURSDAY: Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in Evil Twin, Too Faced
This one is definitely not for everyday. An ultra-dark purple that's almost black, it's one that makes a statement. But remember to prep your lips before application because this texture can be a tad drying.

FRIDAY: Silk Intense Lipstick in 380 Midnight Wine, Laneige
One of the thinnest textures of the lot, it still packs conditioning properties and high pigment concentration for a bold and vibrant pout. Great for those who are experimenting with deep lipstick shades.
SATURDAY: The Matte Lip Color in Bloodroses, Kevyn Aucoin
This is everything a lipstick junkie dreams of. This sleek bullet packs high impact colour, a creamy texture and a velvety-matte finish for an elegant, no-nonsense take on dark lips.
SUNDAY: The Only 1 Lipstick in 810 One-Of-A-Kind, Rimmel
Fortified with emollients, this lipstick feels comfortable on lips for hours on end but can be susceptible to feathering and smudging, so be sure to prep lips with a lip liner first.
