Why Nude Nails Work For The Office

Last year, nail polishes outsold lipsticks for the first time, with British women spending over £450 annually on their nails, including treatments and lacquers.

It’s no surprise, as a glossy manicure is the finishing touch to a professional, polished look. It gives the impression of someone who has an attention to detail and cares about their appearance. While red can make a statement, it can also limit your work wardrobe. Nude, on the other hand, is incredibly versatile and understated.

 Three need-to-know nude nail tips…
  1. 1. Keep the shape short and natural. To prevent splitting, opt for a crystal file and use smooth motions in one direction rather than back and forth, which creates friction.
  2. 2. If you’re a fan of gel manicures, give your nails a break every three months. While the gel formulas aren’t necessarily damaging, the removal process does take its toll.
  3. 3. In terms of colour, look to Tom Ford. The range of nude hues – from Toasted Sugar to Sugar Dune – offer a shade for every skin tone. Plus, the formulas have a glossy finish and are hard-wearing.
