Last year, nail polishes outsold lipsticks for the first time, with British women spending over £450 annually on their nails, including treatments and lacquers.
It’s no surprise, as a glossy manicure is the finishing touch to a professional, polished look. It gives the impression of someone who has an attention to detail and cares about their appearance. While red can make a statement, it can also limit your work wardrobe. Nude, on the other hand, is incredibly versatile and understated.
- 1. Keep the shape short and natural. To prevent splitting, opt for a crystal file and use smooth motions in one direction rather than back and forth, which creates friction.
- 2. If you’re a fan of gel manicures, give your nails a break every three months. While the gel formulas aren’t necessarily damaging, the removal process does take its toll.
- 3. In terms of colour, look to Tom Ford. The range of nude hues – from Toasted Sugar to Sugar Dune – offer a shade for every skin tone. Plus, the formulas have a glossy finish and are hard-wearing.
