Actress and singer Zoë Kravitz is the latest A-lister to lend more than her famous face to a beauty line. In her role as the global make-up ambassador for YSL Beauté she has co-created a line of lipsticks, which she revealed on Instagram.
“I’ve been working with YSL Beauté for a while now, and I really wanted to get more involved and more creative, so they allowed me to make a few of my own shades,” Kravitz explains. The result realises six new shades for the most iconic of YSL’s lipstick creations.
“Rouge Pur Couture is one of my favourite products,” she reveals. “The texture is so beautiful. It doesn’t get too dry; it’s not too shiny. It’s kind of perfect.”
Her take on it comes with three reds and three nudes, “the perfect colours for lipstick.”
She explains, “I think if you want to do a strong eye, a nude is always perfect for the lips. If you want more of a daytime look, a nude is also perfect. And if you want to be more sexy and sophisticated, red is always good.”
The packaging for the collection – glossy black lacquer soaked in sparkle – is inspired by the star’s own black Saint Laurent Niki bag, and the Black Opium packaging (the fragrance for which Kravitz is the face).
Hopefully this is the start of a whole cosmetics collection from the dream team. Because who wouldn’t want to be as cool as Zoë, with the glamour of YSL?
The YSL Beauté x Zoë Kravitz Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks will cost £29 each and are available from 4 September 2019 exclusively at Harrods.
