VS Angels Elsa Hosk and Lais Ribeiro put a subversive spin on the classic fairy tale of Snow White and Rose Red. Why be naughty or nice when you can be both? BAZAAR chats with Elsa as she works her magic in front of the camera:
You were the show opener for the VS Fashion Show 2016 in Paris, wore the Swarovski outfit for the Shanghai show in 2017, and had the honour of walking in the Fantasy Bra exclusively designed for you at the VS Show in NYC. How does it feel to have secured all 3 coveted positions with VS in the recent years?
I never thought I would be able to top the feeling of opening the show in Paris, but getting to wear the million dollar fantasy bra was such a dream come true to me. It's something I worked so hard for and I’ll always have those amazing memories.
How would you describe your experience walking at this year’s VS Fashion Show in NYC? How is it different from previous years?
It was so much fun to be back in NYC, hanging with all the girls backstage, feeling the energy of all the new girls and veteran angels. It was a special show for me not only because of the fantasy bra, but it had this feeling of women empowerment and the runway design was intimate and so cool!
What do you think are the most memorable runway looks at this year’s show?
I loved the flights of fancy segment because all the dreamy colours and feathers. Very classic VS!
How did you find out that you would be wearing the Fantasy Bra this year?
They surprised me on set, I thought I was showing up for a normal collection shoot , but the whole day was just for the fantasy bra surprise! They had fake outfits for me to wear and then we started the shoot and half-way into the shot cameras show up and everyone’s looking at me and a big box rolled up in front of me. I thought it was a birthday surprise and had no idea that the fantasy bra was inside! I was truly surprised and couldn’t believe it! Such a good memory!!!
How was it like putting on the million-dollar bra?
It fit perfectly! It felt so much like my style, something I would wear. It’s so gorgeous, chic, simple, and modern!
What is your Fantasy Bra of all time, and why?
I loved Lais' fantasy bra and Candice’s royal one! They were gorgeous!!
Is there a go-to routine (be it wellness, workout, diet, skincare) you have stuck in preparation for the big day?
Working out, having facials with Teresa Tarmey to keep my skin clear and a healthy diet and meals by rosemary Fergeusen.
What’s next for Elsa Hosk?
Continue working as a model and build my own brand as well!
