BAZAAR Exclusive: Cara Delevingne On Calvin Klein’s ‘This Is Love’ Pride Campaign And Her Style Journey
The model and actress tells us what the campaign means to her, how she’s developed her own sense of style, and more.

With Pride Month just around the corner, Calvin Klein has released its annual Pride collection—and, with it, a new star to represent the brand’s commitment to inclusivity. This year, the American lifestyle brand has brought the renowned actress and model Cara Delevingne on board. From walking her first runway for a Burberry collection to her roles in award-winning shows such as American Horror Story and Only Murders In The Building, Delevingne has established herself as a multi-hyphenate star.
The avid supporter of environmental, mental health, and LGBTQ+ causes is continuing her journey to embracing her authentic self as the face of Calvin Klein’s 2024 This Is Love campaign. Shot by Gordon von Steiner, the campaign stills capture Delevingne and actor and singer Jeremy Pope in the brand’s 2024 Pride collection, embracing the joyful, confident energy of Pride. The campaign video features the two lip-syncing to Crystal Waters’ iconic anthem “100% Pure Love” alongside the likes of Stella Maxwell, Greta Hofer, Tinglei Liu, and Monet Lauren, who collectively channel the euphoric spirit of Pride and the strength of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The 2024 Pride collection infuses classic Calvin Klein underwear and apparel with the vibrant energy of Pride. Underwear styles are refreshed with a limited-edition logo waistband designed with a bright rainbow gradient and updated in bold colorways, while the Monogram Logo tee and tank feature Calvin Klein’s signature monogram in a vibrant gradient print.

What is your first memory of Calvin Klein?
I’m not sure when I saw it, but the first memory I have is seeing the iconic campaign with Kate Moss and Mark Wahlberg. It came out the year I was born, but it’s still one of my favourite campaigns.
What about Calvin Klein resonates most with you and why?
I think it’s Calvin Klein’s stylish simplicity but empowered ethos. I always hope to embody that as well.

You’re in Calvin Klein’s new Pride campaign. Can you share with us one anecdote about the experience?
Everything I wore on set made me feel really confident. Also, getting to dance on a giant bed and lip-sync along to Crystal Waters’s iconic anthem “100% Pure Love” was such a fun experience.
What message do you hope people take away from this campaign?
I hope people are able to look at the campaign and feel the sense of fun, freedom and celebration that we all felt making it.
Describe your style in three words.
Bold, versatile, unpredictable.
If you could only choose one item to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
I mean summer is approaching and honestly my favourite thing is hanging out in boxers and a baggy t-shirt or just in my underwear. So my Calvin’s are perfect.

What are your personal wardrobe must-haves?
Hmmmmm, it really depends. I get really attached to an item of clothing. Whether that’s a jacket or a shoe, and I wear it till it breaks.
What is something you’ve been into lately, be it fashion, music, interiors etc?
Honestly, I have been completely submerged in playing Sally Bowles in CABARET but there is so much new music and movies that have come out recently, which I will dive into when I am finished. Apart from that I am a big Bravo fan… Housewives all day.
