Star Awards 2024: All The Details On Chantalle Ng’s Pearl-Embellished Look
We spoke to Ng’s stylist for the inside scoop; including how this was not the original outfit she was meant to wear.
Any fashion stylist can attest that sometimes, things just don’t go as planned. This was exactly what happened to fashion stylist Donson Chan at the recently concluded 2024 Star Awards, which celebrated the best in Singapore’s Mandarin television and radio.

Chan, who dressed actress Chantalle Ng at the awards ceremony, admitted that “due to some hiccups, the outfit that was more or less decided was not available at the very last moment.” Last year, the fashion stylist collaborated with Ng too. The pair settled for a head-to-toe all-metal chainmail look with thigh-baring slits, accompanied with Cartier baubles and a shimmery beauty look featuring metallic silver eyeshadow and ball bearings braided into her tresses.

This time around, Chan wanted to “go for something unconventional like last year” and opted for an all-white two-piece number from Sportmax that came adorned with a latticework of pearl strands dangling off her entire frame. She was also spotted wearing an intricately braided floor-sweeping mane, high jewellery from Cartier, and the Hublot ‘Spirit of Big Bang King Gold Rainbow in 39mm’ timepiece. Of his styling decision for the actress this year, Chan said, “It’s fun and youthful, (and) with a touch of elegance. This is her!”

Ng, who clinched the ’Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes’ award and ‘Favourite CP (Couple)’ award alongside her co-star Desmond Tan, was also a ‘Best Actress’ nominee for her role in the drama series All That Glitters.
