Gwyneth Paltrow’s Daughter Apple Re-wore Her Punk-Inspired 2002 Oscars Dress
And she looks just like her mom
If you ever thought one of the perks of being the child of a big celebrity would be getting to re-wear their iconic red-carpet looks—well, looks like you’d be right.
Yesterday, Gwyneth Paltrow answered a question from a fan on Instagram, who wondered, “Does Apple ever wear any of [your] fashion archives?”

In response, Paltrow shared a photo of daughter Apple Martin looking stunning in a punk-inspired black Alexander McQueen gown that the Emma star first wore to the 2002 Oscars. The piece features a sheer mesh sleeveless top with a crisscross detail in the middle, and an ample rumpled skirt with a long train.
In the photo, Martin, 19, playfully poses inside a walk-in closet with one hand under her chin and the other on her hip. Her hair is styled in a messy ponytail, and she wears gold jewelry and seemingly no makeup. (Paltrow shares her look-alike daughter with ex-husband and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. They also share 17-year-old son Moses Martin.)

Back in 2002, Paltrow styled the dress with diamond jewellery, including chandelier earrings; she opted for shimmery dark eye shadow and wore her hair in a braided up-do.

In 2013, Paltrow reflected on her show-stopping punk Oscars look, saying in a Goop Q&A, “There were a few issues; I still love the dress itself but I should have worn a bra and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup. Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to—a little bit of punk at the Oscars.”
