This K-Pop star might be making waves with his debut teasers, but he is far from an unfamiliar face in the industry. EVAN, better known as Lee Heeseung, is a South-Korean solo artist who up till recently was a member of the global boy band sensation ENHYPEN. His departure sparked numerous discussions amongst fans but there’s one thing we know for sure—he’s so back. Under the alias of EVAN, he’s here to extend his unique sound and emotional depth to the world.

1. He is Set to Debut His First Digital Single
EVAN’s debut single [RIDE OR DIE] is scheduled to drop on 22 June 2026 at 5pm SGT / 6pm KST, featuring a two-track release titled “Overflow” and “Ride Or Die”. Ahead of the drop, the soloist shared the demo versions on his Instagram (@h_evva_n), both of which showcased his versatile musical range in indie-pop and alternative-rock. Judging by the concept photos, it’s giving major edgy rockstar boyfriend energy.
2. He Participated in a Reality Survival Show
EVAN was one of the 23 contestants in reality survival show I-LAND (2020), where a group of boys compete to become the next generation of global artists. Throughout the competition, he consistently placed in the top five before ranking fifth in the final global voting rank, securing himself a spot in ENHYPEN alongside members JUNGWON, JAY, JAKE, SUNGHOON, SUNOO and NI-KI.

3. He Was a Member of ENHYPEN
He was the oldest member, main vocalist and centre of ENHYPEN. Many ENGENEs, as well as his own members, regarded him as the ‘ace’ of the group for his all-rounder skills in singing, dancing, rapping and stage presence. The final album he promoted with the group was their seventh EP, The Sin: Vanish, with the title track “Knife”. He also co-wrote “Sleep Tight” alongside member Jake, making it his 28th album credit as both composer and lyricist for the team.
4. He Released a Ringtone Called “Dial Tragedy”

During his time with ENHYPEN, EVAN gave ENGENEs a pleasant surprise by releasing a short solo track titled “Dial Tragedy” in May 2025. The song follows a man desperately trying to call his lover. While it wasn’t officially released on streaming platforms, it still became a hit with fans and has reached over 2.5 million views on YouTube.
5. He Is a Qrsessed Ambassador
Since November 2025, EVAN has served as the Global Brand Ambassador for the Korean colour contact lens brand Qrsessed, in the hopes of him embodying the brand’s core message that beauty is free of gender boundaries. His collection features a lineup of nine lens colours including Killer Gray, Lovey Beige, Dusty Grape and more.
6. He Has Perfect Pitch

On episode 491 of Weekly Idol, EVAN demonstrated his perfect pitch by successfully recognising the varying notes in a pitch-identification game—a skill he has also used to tune Jay’s guitar by ear on occasion. Hilariously, he shared that he first discovered this ability when he was in elementary school. While on a car ride with his father, his dad accidentally let out a fart and EVAN instantly recognised the sound as the note, “So”.

7. He Can Play Multiple Instruments
Thanks to his perfect pitch, EVAN also taught himself to play the guitar and piano. During ENHYPEN’s concerts, he frequently performed instrumental solos for tracks like “XO” and “Moonstruck”, as well as covers like “Circles” by Post Malone. We love to see a multi-talented king.
8. He Graduated from One of South Korea’s Most Prestigious Schools
EVAN has always been dedicated to his education. During his third year of middle school, he attended a month-long English language training programme in Canada. He later went on to Gwangnam High School, the only public institution renowned for having produced perfect CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test) scorers across four separate years. Upon graduation, he also enrolled at Global Cyber University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting and Entertainment, a specialised online programme for developing artists.
