Raf brought a new feminine and softly romantic spirit to Dior. He delivered excess in measured tasteful doses. He gave flora and fauna an outing in haute couture that was personal and incredibly pretty. He reinvented the bar jacket and gave it modernity and relevance today. He took bags and shoes and made them bright, pop and recognisable to all fashion cognoscenti. And he never once forgot he worked for the storied house of Dior. His humility and respect for tradition, and his perseverance with modernity in understanding what today's women want—I will miss his quiet genius dearly.
