Kim Kardashian Borrows Kylie Jenner's Style With A Cutout Dress
She’s the latest champion of the exposed thong trend

If you’re part of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, what better place to look to for fashion inspiration than within your own family?
Kim Kardashian seemed to do just that when she made an appearance in New York City earlier this week. The SKIMS mogul put her sultry street style on display by stepping out in a black bodycon jersey dress by Gucci. The eye-popping piece features large hip cutouts attached with faux exposed thong straps (complete with bejeweled Gs looped onto the leather).

While a model on the Gucci website wears the dress with tiny cold-shoulder sleeves, Kardashian blazed her own sartorial path, choosing instead to wear the cold shoulders as a torso cutout that offered some modest side-boob exposure.

Kardashian’s youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, has previously been a proponent of the controversial Y2K trend revival.

This past February, Kylie wore a colourful iteration of the trend during a tropical vacation. This included a lime-green ruched micro miniskirt covered in a paisley print. Peeking over the skirt was a matching thong, which also included a cheeky Y-shaped panel in cobalt blue when seen from the back. She finished off the look with a mocha-brown mesh crop top and strappy brown leather heels with a chartreuse boa trim.

It’s probably worth noting that Kardashian’s other little sister, Kendall Jenner, has also participated in the exposed thong trend. She took it to the next level while attending a Met Gala after-party earlier this month, where she wore a sequined Nensi Dojaka playsuit with a cropped black tank and a black thong layered on the exterior of the piece. The suit was a re-creation of a look first seen on Chanel’s spring/summer 1994 runway.
