The "Like a Virgin" singer was found unconscious in New York on Saturday, and rushed to the Intensive Care Unit, where she was reportedly intubated overnight.

On Wednesday, her manager, Guy Osearyannounced via Instagram that the tour was postponed, as the star needed time to recover. He added that the 64-year-old is expected to "make a full recovery" and that her "health is improving," but added that she is "still under medical care."

The family member told Daily Mail that Madonna had been pushing herself extremely hard to prepare for the 84-date Celebration Tour, which is meant to mark her 40th career anniversary. It was set to kick off on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada.

"For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst," the relative said. "Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation."

"I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for," Madonna said when announcing her tour this January.

Longtime fans and friends have been leaving well wishes on Madonna's Instagram and on Oseary's post since news broke of her illness. Her eldest daughter, Lourdes Leon, has not publicly addressed the incident.
