Here’s a buzzy one, literally. Actor Andrew Scott may have stepped onto the red carpet in an all-black ensemble with no reference to this year’s theme, “The Garden of Time”, but he made a big effort with a trio of vintage Boucheron bee brooches in yellow and rose gold with pavé diamonds and a yellow gold fern necklace—also from the maison’s archive—cascading down his exposed neckline.

The couple channelled yin and yang energies for their impeccably tailored tuxedos but it was the golden roses skewered through the blazers that caught our eye. Cowan revealed on the carpet that the blooms were a nod to their English heritage and they were in fact fresh red roses that were dipped in 24-carat gold and sterling silver to make them Met Gala-worthy.
