The Duke of Sussex competed in the annual Sentebale Polo Cup today, the flagship fundraiser for the charitable foundation Harry co-founded in 2006 to support children and young people in southern Africa affected by poverty, inequality, HIV/AIDS, and, recently, COVID-19. The equestrian event has has raised over $14 million for the organization to date, since it was first held in Barbados in 2010.
This year's match took place at the Singapore Polo Club, where the prince was joined on the field by long-time friend and Sentebale ambassador Ignacio "Nacho" Figueras. The Argentinian polo star acted as captain for the Singapore Polo Club Team, while Harry played for the Royal Salute Sentebale Team, which was captained by Malcolm Borwick.
While both Harry and Figueras each scored impressive goals for their respective teams, the match concluded with a final score of 7-7 with honours shared. The match was followed by dinner at the InterContinental Singapore.

In a statement provided by Sentable, the royal highlighted the foundation's longstanding work to improve the livelihoods of children and young people, while also honouring his late mother, Princess Diana. During a dinner following last year's event in Aspen, Harry marked the 25th anniversary of her death, saying that he is always inspired by her tireless work to support and destigmatise those experiencing HIV/AIDS.
"Sentebale has remained a pillar of support in communities across southern Africa for almost two decades, ensuring future generations are well equipped to address the many challenges facing our world," the royal said in the statement. "Adaptability and nimbleness have been a defining factor in our work since Prince Seeiso and I founded the charity 17 years ago."

"Our work has remained rooted in our mission, and in honour of our late mothers, we wish to ensure all children and young people in southern Africa are empowered, healthy and able to pursue their ambitions and dreams," he continued.
