Spain’s women’s soccer team won its first World Cup this Sunday, defeating England 1–0. The entire country erupted in cheers at the victory, including Queen Letizia, who joined players on the field to accept their golden trophy.

The win at Stadium Australia in Sydney marked the team’s first senior major global title. It also made Spain the first team to hold the under-17, under-20, and senior women’s world titles at the same time. With the victory, Spain joined Germany as the only two nations to have won both the men’s and women’s titles.
