Taika Waititi Reveals Rita Ora Proposed To Him: 'And I Said Yes Instantly'
The couple shared stunning behind-the-scenes photos from their dreamy wedding in honor of their anniversary
Rita Ora and husband Taika Waititi just shared new touching details about their love story.

In an Instagram post shared today in celebration of their wedding anniversary, the filmmaker revealed that the singer was the one who proposed to him.
“It’s actually been quite entertaining for us to see the different stories people made up and all the while getting to keep it to ourselves,” Rita said in a recent interview, speaking of her out-of-the-spotlight marriage and life with Waititi.

“And, I love that we now get to share what really happened—and to do it on our one year anniversary no less!” she added.
“Rita [Ora] proposed to me, and I said ‘yes’ instantly,” Waititi then sweetly revealed.
The two began dating in 2021, and Ora popped the question while they were vacationing in Palm Springs in the summer of 2022. A few weeks later, on August 4, they married in Los Angeles. “It wasn’t in London or in France like everyone reported,” Waititi said. “It was in L.A .with a small group of friends.”
The photos in the post show scenes from Ora and Waititi’s magical day: an Elvis Presley–themed performance, snaps of the two in front of the iconic Hollywood sign, and a wedding cake with the words WE’RE MARRIED BITCHES in red icing.

There are also images of Ora in a frilly white plunging dress, and her stunning lacy white wedding dress, which she accessorised with a veil and diamond jewelry to say “I do.”
