Kensington Palace has released four new photographs of the princess taken by the Duchess of Cambridge

Kensington Palace has released four new pictures of Princess Charlotte ahead of her first birthday on 2 May.

The pictures, which were taken by her mother the Duchess of Cambridge in April, show the young royal playing at their family home in Norfolk.

"The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments, ahead of their daughter's first birthday," read a statement on the royal family's official Facebook page. "We hope everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as we do."
