To kickstart the spring/summer 2019 season, Christian Louboutin and Harper’s BAZAAR held a one-night-only event that shone the spotlight on the luxury footwear brand’s latest Loubigraf collection. Associate Fashion News Editor Gerald Tan brought selected readers and guests into the creative mind of the namesake founder, who created the statement-making range after being inspired by graffiti art found in cities such as New York and Paris. Besides packing plenty of graphic punch, the colourful range of sneakers, boots and bags also emphasise the importance of self-expression. And true to theme, guests were given handy ponchos emblazoned with graffiti motics, while the boutique’s elegant façade was plastered with wall art that lent a vibrant, artistic mien to the evening’s proceedings.
