For one night in February, Scotts Square transformed into both an art gallery and runway for the BAZAAR Art Prize 2016 exhibition opening and awards party. The clacker of stilettos signalled the start of the evening, as over 160 guests streamed into the atrium where photographers captured their arrival. With flutes of champagne in hand, guests spent most of the night mingling around the artworks by our 12 talented finalists, discussing the concept of “Fashion Meets Art”—the theme these budding artists worked around. Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore‘s Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Goh, together with Mo Loke, General Manager, Architecture and Design, Wheelock Properties, then took to the stage to announce the big winners of the night: Shin-Young Park for the 2D Work on Canvas category; Desiree Liew for the Photography category; and Ieo Gek Ching for the 2D Work on Paper category. The biggest winner of the night, however, was 21-year-old Yom Bo Sung, who bagged the titled of Overall Winner of the BAZAAR Singapore Art Prize 2016, along with a $10,000 cash prize.
The BAZAAR Singapore Art Prize 2016 exhibition is on display at Scotts Square, 6 Scotts Road, until 12 March 2017.
