A must-try is their signature Caramelised Onion, 20-months aged Grana Padano that can be either served hot or cold, depending on your preference. The humble onion has never tasted so full-bodied and decadent as it is steamed and then baked into a crisp, caramelised puff pastry like a tarte tatin. A quenelle of cold Grana Padano Riserva gelato topped on the pastry is the pièce de résistance. The flavour-packed 20 months-aged cheese in the gelato creates a distinct and balanced contrast to the natural sweetness of the caramelised onion tart.
We can’t forget dessert, with the crowd favorite being the epic Lemon curd, meringue, lettuce ice-cream and cocoa crumble demonstrating Oldani’s penchant for blurring the lines between sweet and savoury courses. A melange of flavours from the tangy sweetness of the lemon curd to the bitterness of the dark cocoa pastry. The Italian lettuce ice-cream creates an unexpected twist giving us a truly one of a kind dining experience.
