I love pop culture and couldn’t be happier with Katy Perry on the cover of our September issue. She is a woman who captures the zeitgeist of the moment and propels it forward with bells, whistles and a thousand sequins. She isn’t afraid of colour, print, outlandish costumes and bravado. I sing along to her happy songs and love what her long-time friend and collaborator, Jeremy Scott, dreams up every few months for her to wear. Moschino couldn’t have found a better match in Scott as its Creative Director. He embraces every aspect of popular culture to serve us McDonalds on a couture platter and Barbie as a fashion icon. His wit and panache has embraced our everyday and, in a short stint of two years, the brand’s shows have become one of the most highly anticipated and watched, at Milan Fashion Week.

One of my personal favourites is the modern vintage mood Alessandro Michele has infused in Gucci. My personal take on his first women’s collection is summed up in the romantic shoot I styled in New York. It shows his love for washed leather pleated skirts and lace blouses (for men as well!).
