“Life, living, travel, cultures and the people you meet... These will shape who you are or will become,” offers De Boer, a mother of two whose fun-loving nature and warm personality are backed by a sartorial sensibility that ranges from conservative to playful, exemplified in the high-street gems and high-end treasures that line her wardrobe. Comfort is also key for the 41-year-old, who regards her Golden Goose Deluxe Brand sneakers as her trusty go-to when she’s out and about. Together with her husband, De Boer is channelling her love for design by developing properties in the resort haven of Bali. It also explains why she believes the concept of style is more than just the clothes you put on your back. “Style is everything. It is the variables around you that you can’t control. It’s the variables inside you that you can,” offers De Boer. “When those two collide, that’s your style.”
