10 Best Dressed At The MTV VMAs 2015

This morning, as the BAZAAR team was reviewing the MTV VMAs red carpet, one member quipped, "The MTV VMAs is the only time you can dress totally inappropriately and still get away with it!" While we couldn't agree more with that statement—have you seen Miley Cyrus's outfit?—there were those celebrities that managed to push boundaries and stay infinitely chic at the same time. Emily Ratajkowski completely slayed it with her Altuzarra number and thigh-high boots, Taylor Swift went for her go-to crop top and a totally on-point beauty look, and Kylie Jenner rocked it up in a nude Balmain number that was equal parts rock star and fashion icon.

Elsewhere, heading up the sleek black parade was Lily Aldridge in her seriously sexy Alexandre Vauthier, while Chrissy Teigen went for a sheer, embellished dress that showed off all her best assets. But the best dressed in black would have to go to Selena Gomez, who kept her look minimalist but with oodles of chic in Calvin Klein.

On the other end of the colour spectrum, Gigi Hadid brightened up the red carpet with a sunny yellow gown slit up to here, Nicki Minaj took a leaf from Beyoncé and went for the undressed-but-still-dressed look, and Vanessa Hudgens, always the bohemian princess, went for a floaty, blush pink gown accessorised with a flower crown. Not forgetting one of the most outrageously extravagant looks of the evening: Rita Ora channeled Odile from The Swan Princess with her heavily feathered black Vera Wang and her adorable behind-the-scenes video on Instagram just swanned its way into our top ten.
