7 Times Gisele Made People Freak Out

Gisele Bündchen has been the center of attention in more ways than being on magazine covers and ad campaigns. In honor of the supermodel's 36th birthday, revisit some of her most shocking moments off the runway.

1) When she flaunted major sideboob at the Met Gala.

Though stealing the spotlight on the red carpet is no new feat for Bündchen, the super made heads especially turn at the 2008 Met Gala when she showed up in a cut-out Versace gown that left little to the imagination.

2) When she posted a photo of herself getting glammed up while breastfeeding.

Bundchen gave her followers a peek into her glamorously hectic life when she posted a photo of herself multitasking two very different activities: getting primped by her makeup team and breastfeeding her child. "What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours of sleep #gettingready," she captioned the pic. The image consequently caused a stir among moms over whether it's okay to publicize breastfeeding.

3) When she responded to Tom Brady's Super Bowl loss.

After her husband Tom Brady and the New England Patriots suffered a tough loss at the 2012 Super Bowl to the New York Giants, Gisele was just as upset as the losing team. It also didn't help that Giants fans were harassing her at the game. "My husband cannot f*cking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times," she shot back at them.

4) When she wore a burqa as a disguise.

The model garnered serious backlash last fall after she was caught using a burqa as a disguise, in order to attend an alleged plastic surgery appointment in France out without getting recognized. She was criticized by the Muslim community on social media for using a garment intended for modesty in Islam as a mere cover-up.

5) When she devoured pizza backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Gisele finally revealed she really is a human being like the rest of us when she stuffed her face with pizza backstage at the 2002 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. She was also wearing nothing but a silk robe, naturally.

6) When she asked to be paid in euros instead of dollars.

When she scored her Pantene deal in 2007, Bundchen demanded to be paid in euros since it was the stronger currency, in fear that the dollar would continue to weaken. "Contracts starting now are more attractive in euros because we don't know what will happen to the dollar," her sister and manager Patricia told Bloomberg news.

7) When she retired from the runway.

The icon gave a bittersweet farewell to the runway 19 years after her debut last September. She walked her final catwalk in her native country, Brazil, at the Colcci Spring 2016 fashion show in Sao Paolo.
