Daniel Lee has continuously delighted at Bottega Veneta by going against the grain. He brought back the ugly-chic square toe, doubled down on the intrecciato and even deleted the brand’s Instagram account—all proof that you don’t have to be loud to be buzzy; big impact can come from little details. This duality is also evident in his work, which is at once restrained and rich, luxurious but never too precious. For pre-fall 2021, silhouettes are strikingly streamlined, letting a wealth of textures—both organic and synthetic, humble and haute—take centre stage. Bathrobes are made of the plushest shearling while rain boots come coated in glitter. Here, the straps of a pair of sexy heeled sandals are fashioned to look like telephone cords—a playful nod to an analog past. As we collectively tire of slippers after more than a year of staying in, these are the perfect heels to step into and run off on a fashion fantasy.

The heeled sandals are $2,000 and are available at Bottega Veneta, #01-04, ION Orchard (tel: 6238 0020).
