Alexa Chung Teams Up With Marks & Spencer

The British style icon will collaborate with the high-street store on a unique collection inspired by its archive

​Marks & Spencer has announced a unique collaboration with Alexa Chung, entitled Archive By Alexa, which focuses on bringing pieces from the brand's history back to life for 2016.

Using the extensive Marks & Spencer company archive, Chung and the design team have carefully curated a 31-piece womenswear collection. The pieces are being updated for 2016 with the introduction of modern fabrics and a new colour palette.

"I have always had an affection for Marks & Spencer," Chung said. "I am thrilled to be part of this special and unique project. There was something very touching about looking back through the British fashion and social history, with which M&S is synonymous."

Chung will also take creative ownership of the mood and direction of the campaign, which will launch in April.

"Marks & Spencer's history is vast and quality design has always been paramount; therefore using our expertise and classic designs and Alexa's unique eye and approach to style, our collaboration was born," explained Steve Rowe, the brand's executive director of general merchandise.

This project marks the first of the 'M&S &' series, which promises to be a sequence of unique, exclusive collections in collaboration with exciting brands, designers and fashion icons.

Archive By Alexa launches in April 2016 in selected stores and online.
