An All-New Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore Launches This March

Sometimes all we need is a little refresh.

An All-New Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore Launches This March

Not sure if you noticed, but we have gone a little more intimate and a tad more portable with our March issue. There’s more white space, new fonts and typography to make the magazine a lot more aesthetic. We’ve also refined the pages that matter to you—adding focus to BAZAAR Man cos we know you love reading and looking at the boys.

Our jewellery and watches section is another pillar that we realised is getting more and more attention, from the fashion houses to the beautiful Maisons that have been crafting them for hundreds of years. So we have amped up the pages with some truly lust-worthy pieces (from page 106). We’ve also placed more focus on A Fashionable Life starting on page 170, profiling homeowner Bahareh Badiei in her stunning mansion filled with incredible art, exquisite fashion, and even her own spa room and gym!

Why do this refresh? Well, we’ve had the same size and a similar look for 23 years, and we felt it was time—a good way to move the discourse further with a stronger emphasis on fashion today. And not just any ol’ style but a closer look at what’s chic, what’s relevant and how style has morphed and evolved with the times. At BAZAAR, I always feel it’s about education—not in a we-know-better way, but through suggestion, inference and clever styling.

Our fashion feature talks about dressing for yourself and relishing the joy of exploring colour, print and ruffles—and not about being a slave to fashion or trends. In our men’s section, we cancel out all the noise about quiet luxury, which ironically has become so ubiquitous even fast-fashion retailers are churning out more shades of beige than a M.A.C foundation counter. Our fashion pages have a languid, sensual feel to them this season, capturing a new elegance for spring/summer. Some call it coquette dressing, I call it little-girl-grows-up. There’s also dopamine dressing that calls for happy colours and prints from head to toe. It’s as easy as applying a bubble gum pink lipstick to lift your Monday Blues. Check out our fashion and beauty well for some exciting ideas for your wardrobe.

And then there’s the hilarious antics of our BAZAAR Man, Ronny Chieng. The Malaysian-born comedian turned global superstar hammed it up for our camera in some of the finest threads of the season. We ditched the suits he’s normally in, ruffled his hair and dressed him in softer tailoring. Turn to page 131 to see the results.

And finally, don’t forget to read some of the best runway collections in our extensive 24-page report. From New York to London, Milan and Paris, we distil the best to present the looks and the vibes that will get you excited this season. Desire and the promise of a new chic are ideals we all strive to achieve. And like this issue, sometimes all we need is a little refresh.
