Ann Dem has never searched to be cool—she just is.

In a world where the buzzword of inclusivity is a trending topic, Ann Demeulemeester has always blurred the gender lines in her illustrious fashion career which has never eschewed trends. Male and female models walked out in a monotonal display of long tunic cotton dresses, trenches with slits and ties, wide legged trousers and vests where clever ties and fabric waist clinchers created body skimming looks that are thoroughly modern. What makes her designs so classic, so everlasting, yet so gothically cool is the insistence of great fabrics, clever cuts, and a wardrobe of black and whites which truly never runs out of date.

Rapper Tyya, pop star Halsey, 2NE1's Sandara Park, and even super diva Cher were in attendance dressed in the eponymous designers clothes, all looking individually cool, yet strikingly different. It’s that personal take on fashion that marks Ann as a designer not just for the tall and skinny, but for people who insist on fashion that lasts and somehow blurs the gender lines which today is the buzzword for cool. The great thing is Ann Dem has never searched to be cool—she just is.
