Only Jolie could make a vest suit look this luxe

Angelina Jolie delivered another perfect minimalist outfit during her latest outing.

The Eternals star and her 18-year-old daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, were spotted together in New York City earlier this week. Jolie made a fashion statement with an outfit composed of basic wardrobe essentials, including a smoky gray trench coat, a charcoal vest suit with slouchy wide-leg trousers, and black heeled boots. To finish the sharp ensemble, she carried her go-to tote bag—Saint Laurent's quilted maxi shopping bag in black—and shielded her face in black cat-eye sunglasses.

The actress's street style often sticks to neutral tones and a monochromatic color palette.

For instance, last month she stepped out in NYC wearing an all-black look composed of a slinky black slipdress, a baggy black knit sweater, a sophisticated black overcoat, and pointed black leather booties. Accessories included aviator shades, gold bracelets, and her signature Saint Laurent tote.

And during a night out at Lincoln Center, where Zahara once again accompanied her, the Oscar winner looked glamorous in a black textured cape layered over a champagne silk slipdress, which she styled with beige pumps. She finished the enchanting ensemble with large diamond stud earrings and the Cassandre leather pouch by Saint Laurent.

Jolie reflected on her style evolution in an interview for Harper's BAZAAR's December 2019–January 2020 cover story.

"I was a punk. I loved leather, PVC, and fishnets," she said. "Those were my three favorite fabrics in my early 20s. I remember the first time I wore PVC pants. I was waiting for an audition, sitting in the sun in L.A. By the time it was my turn, my pants had fused together. I didn't get the part."
