Singapore's Asian Civilisations Museum has made its way to South Korea. Making its first-ever inroads into the international showcase space, ACM's special exhibition on local contemporary fashion designers, #SGFASHIONNOW, is now on display in two of the world's leading cultural cities, Busan and Seoul. With the support of the Korea Foundation, this latest edition of the showcase was made possible thanks to the Singapore Embassy in Korea as well as the Singapore Fashion Council, and was co-curated by ACM's ongoing partner, LASALLE College of the Arts' School of Fashion.

Director of ACM and the Peranakan Museum, Kennie Ting, recently shared his excitement for this new edition of the exhibition, which features experimental designs that celebrate our multicultural, cosmopolitan city’s heritage. "We are terribly excited to be presenting the third edition of #SGFASHIONNOW in two of Asia's most dynamic cities, Busan and Seoul," Ting said, "even more so as we celebrate Singapore's National Day this August. Presented in strong partnership with the Korea Foundation, this is the first time a special exhibition on contemporary Singaporean fashion designers has travelled abroad, and is thus an extraordinary milestone for us."

Wondering what to expect at the showcase? We've named four pieces below which are sure to catch your eye. Singaporean designer Harry Halim’s bustier, jacket and skirt set surely makes a statement. What’s more, fans of CL from K-pop group 2NE1 might recognise this ensemble during her We The Fest performance back in 2022. Popular Singaporean fashion collective, Youths in Balaclava, will also be featured, marking another major achievement for the brand since their Paris Fashion Week menswear runway show during the Spring/Summer 2024 season.
