Red Valentino’s new series of campaign revolves around the theme ‘Inspired by’ and 19-year-old long jumper Larissa Iapichino is its latest brand ambassador.

Born in Florence, Italy, Iapichino comes from a family of athletes—her mother is Fiona May, two-time world champion and silver medalist at the Olympics for long jump, and her father is Gianni Iapichino, ex-record holder and Italian champion in pole vault plus decathlon.

When Iapichino was 16, she took part in the Agropoli competition and became the Italian record holder under 18 and U20 for jumping a total of 6.64m. Most recently, in 2020, she was awarded a new Italian record for jumping 6.80m for the U20 group. In the same year, she won the “Revelation of the Year” prize during the Italian Gazzetta dello Sport Awards, and was appointed the U20 Female Athlete by FIDAL.

Besides sports, the future law graduate also loves fashion. On the collaboration with REDValentino, she says: “I am very happy to be collaborating with REDValentino, a unique and vibrant brand, with an elevated and authentic design, which I believe reflects my style. I really feel that my way of being romantic and at the same time a little bit out of the ordinary in my sports and daily life is in line with the brand values. I am still a dreamy teenager with two souls: one as a professional athlete, a second as future student and doctor in law willing to make things right, hence I can see REDValentino being my partner in delivering the message that dreams can come true with one’s own, original, feminine way.”
