It goes without saying that Dior is one of the most highly anticipated shows of the Paris fashion week calendar, and for FW19 Maria Grazia Chiuri did not disappoint. After paying homage to the late Karl Lagerfeld, whom the house lauded as “the alchemist of elegance and beauty,” models strutted down the runway in a wide array of tulle gowns, bucket hats, and a brand new slogan T-shirt, which has become an expected part of every collection since the appointment Grazia Chuiri in 2016. This season’s slogan – “Sisterhood is Powerful” – came via Robin Morgan’s seminal 1970 book of the same name. The anthology features radical feminist writings that were edited by the American poet and author. There were also two other versions of the feminist tee which read “Sisterhood is Global” and “Sisterhood is Forever”. Elsewhere, thick black saddle belts cinched in waists while tartan and Vichy check dominated. Head backstage for a closer look, here.
