There's a newcomer to the Instagram scene, and her name is: Socality Barbie. Set out to mock the “ridiculous" nature of social media now, Socality Barbie features Mattel's iconic doll posed in a series of instantly recognisable snapshots. Think pensive selfies in outdoor locations such as lakes and beaches, or shots of coffee cups in indie cafes, accompanied by a copy of Kinfolk magazine, no less.

Dressed in elements of the hipster tribe—you know, thick frames and a beanie, multiple flannel shirts and utilitarian outdoor coats—this Barbie has a penchant for posting pseudo-philosophical quotes like “What's left unsaid, says it all”, and reminds everyone to #liveauthentic and be unique, while, ironically, posing for each predictable filtered shot. It's definitely the Instagram account of the moment to follow, but trust us, while this gave us major laughs, we had to take a long hard look at our own Instagram feeds to make sure that we weren't guilty of the same pretentiousness (we probably are).
