Bottega Veneta’s Tomas Maier was definitely on to something when he first laid eyes on the House’s minaudière after he was appointed creative director in 2001. Recognising the clutch’s potential, he immediately went to work on refreshing its design with a small knot closure. The new detail eventually gave the clutch its iconic name.
Now, you can get up-close to the petite box clutch that has set so many hearts aflutter. “The Knot: A Retrospective” is a travelling exhibition started in 2010 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the brand. And as part of the celebrations to mark the reopening of Bottega’s boutique at Takashimaya, it’ll make its way back to Singapore again for a limited run.

Even though the retrospective was here five years ago when Bottega’s Ion outpost lifted its shutters, the exhibition—held in the expanded Takashimaya store, of course—now promises a more comprehensive display of over 100 archival and Knot pieces to awe and captivate. To witness first-hand the refined craftsmanship that has made Bottega, head on down to the new store from 31 July to 2 August.
