Alexander Wang reimagines Bvlgari’s iconic Serpenti motif for an exclusive handbag collection.
As part of Bvlgari’s “Serpenti Through the Eyes Of” series, the Alexander Wang x Bvlgari collaboration is centered around the reinterpretation of the Iconic Serpenti Forever Bag. The collection focuses on the concept of luxury packing such as a watch box, dust bag and the paper shopping bag. The collection captures both Wang’s cool girl aesthetics and Bvlgari’s design heritage to come up with something that is fun, fresh and ultra modern.
“When Bvlgari approached me to collaborate, I knew I wanted to create something that focused on the everyday overlooked items when purchasing luxury goods and transform it into something desirable for a global consumer of all ages,” said Wang.
The collection consists of six different styles – available in a range of materials and sizes, spanning from soft calf leather in a color palette of white, black and mint green to lush natural python skin and shiny lizard. Wang is known for his desirable fashion accessories that has been beloved by the fashion pack and this collection proves it all.
Perfect for the millennia fashion girl, the hero Belt Bag enriched with two serpent closures is a versatile piece that comes with two detachable straps and a detachable handle. Providing endless styling possibilities, the bag is one of our favourites for sure. The double flap Duette reveals a new edgy attitude and a functional appeal, while each of the three flaps of the Triplette shoulder bag is crowned by the new Wang snakehead closure.
Then comes the ultra chic yet uber cool Shopping tote, available in three sizes. Wang has also created the new Minaudière with its square structured shape to mimic that of a jewellery box, while its custom Serpenti bracelet attachment is constructed in the brand’s iconic tubogas style. Lastly, there is the Two-in-One satchel, a supple leather satchel shaped handbag with drawstring leather dust bag exterior.
This collection joins an eclectic mix of new innovative shapes with traditional silhouettes, to produce an instantly recognizable collection.
The collection will launch this September 2019 at New York Fashion Week.
Prices range from $2,440 for a mini shopper bag to $8,350 for the Miniaudière
