Haute Couture Week wouldn't be the same without Iris Van Herpen and its wondrous creations – for the Fall/Winter 2023 collection, ‘ARCHITECTONICS’ took viewers on a wild journey through futuristic landscapes.

The journey to the collection’s creation began with French architect and oceanographer Jacques Rougerie, whose visionary ideas of a future with floating cities and the hope for an environment that fosters a harmonious coexistence between humanity and aquatic landscapes were the basis of the wardrobe presented today.

And of the collection, Iris Van Herpen described the looks as such: “Seductive cutouts within the sculptural silhouettes reveal alluring shards of skin. The harmonious colour palette of this season combines graphic contrasts of white and blacks that are highlighted with metallic silver, bronze and gold detailing.”

An undercurrent of oceanic themes stood out with soft tones of mint-green, abalone-blue, turquoise and a pearlescent sheen, a nod towards the tehcnicolour shades found on seashells.

As far as accessories go, 3D printing strikes again with 'bionic' boots digitally modelled and printed in collaboration with Scry, while the ethereal crystallised makeup looks were executed by jewellers Malakai and Rinaldy Yunardi.

Camila Cabello and RuPaul’s Drag Race alumnus Miss Fame, both dressed in mesmerising couture creations by the label, were among the celebrity guests sitting front row at the show.
