Camila Cabello, Tina Leung And Voluminous Balletcore At Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023
All things shiny, fluffy and gorgeous.
With a show-stopping tenure in high dressmaking, Giambattista Valli never fails to impress with his expert precision and techniques when executing garments for the Haute Couture season, putting classicism at the forefront.
Valli delivered what he does best this season with heaps of frills and crystal embellishments in the forms of bows, billowy skirts, rosettes and drapes, all of which embody the famed Parisian flirtiness perfectly. The looks are exactly what you'd expect from couture, but somehow even better - voluminous sleeves and silhouettes which appear to defy gravity, structured crinolines and columns which perfectly shape the female figure.

And above all, Valli's ballgowns are always so fun. Take the opening look, for example; a stunning black bustier number with an asymmetrical crinoline supported by tufts of white organza, a dreamy floating cloud of couture. The world revolves around fashion and vice-versa, so it's no secret that brilliant designers like Valli are listening – balletcore saw a resurgence here, as seen in the black ballet flats worn underneath that gown, topped with crystal-encrusted bows on each side, and a plethora of tulle and lace.
